Great events cast long shadows, and none more so than the state reception for the opening of the 111th Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth. A Midsummer Night's Dream
On July 25, 2023, the gates of the New Palace opened to host over 1,000 distinguished guests in a celebration of Wagner’s cultural legacy. Set against the backdrop of this historic location, LDB’s expertise in temporary structures came to the fore. Drawing on years of experience in creating world-class temporary venues, LDB’s team crafted an event space that met the highest standards in both design and functionality.
Royal Presentation
For the reception of the Bavarian Minister-President, LDB installed a stunning 15 × 55-meter Anova structure with two wing extensions (5 × 10 meters on each side). Complementing this was a 20 × 20-meter aluminum hall with transparent roof panels, which allowed natural light to flood the space. This harmonious combination created a breathtaking setting, offering both grandeur and comfort. The installation in the palace courtyard demanded not only technical precision but also a delicate approach to preserve the site’s historic character while delivering state-of-the-art amenities.

Since 1876, the Bayreuth Festival has drawn thousands of visitors annually to the Green Hill in the north of the city. The Festival Theatre, built to Wagner’s exacting standards, remains a global cultural landmark. For the 2023 festival, Losberger De Boer once again demonstrated its ability to blend tradition with innovation, creating a magical experience that honored both the past and the present.
