Mountain and Arctic Tactical Tent (M.A.T.T.)
The MATT is a tactical tent designed for light infantry units. It offers soldiers on the move a portable, lightweight shelter solution that provides camouflage and can be used in extreme climate.
Lightweight and weather-resistant
Losberger De Boer developed this tent according to the specs of an active military organization. It is designed to meet the field requirements of light infantry units, as well as to provide soldiers on the move with a portable, lightweight shelter solution on the most challenging terrains and the most demanding climate conditions. It can withstand wind speeds of up to 110 km/h, and can carry a snow load of 15 kg/m2.
This is a state-of-the-art tent, made from high performance materials. It combines the strength of aluminium portals with an ultra-light PU coated polyester fabric. As a result, the M.A.T.T. weighs 6.8 kg, and can be carried by one person. The tent is fully waterproof, and can withstand extreme wind and snow loads.
Camouflage
The PU coated polyester fabric offers another key benefit to infantry units. Apart from blocking out light, it provides camouflage in the visible, infrared and ultraviolet spectrums of light.
The basic M.A.T.T. can house two to three people and is designed to shelter them from temperatures ranging from -46 degrees Celsius, to + 60. It can be carried and set up by a single person. Installation takes about 5 minutes, making it ideal for military operations.
Several possible configurations
The M.A.T.T. is designed for maximum flexibility and freedom of movement in the field. Therefore, it is composed of several interchangeable modules that can be assembled in a variety of ways, offering multiple configuration options. The M.A.T.T. can accommodate two people with an inner-tent and a lateral storage area, or up to six people when paired with two inner-tents and a central storage area. Each tent comes with a white outer tent for deployment in snow-rich areas, as well as a green outer tent for all season-use. Both can be printed with a user-specific camouflage pattern.
