Losberger De Boer awarded EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability
Losberger De Boer has been awarded a Silver Medal by EcoVadis, for the steps we have taken to reduce our ecological footprint. The award firmly underlines our commitment to protecting the environment as well as to fair trade and decent working conditions for people across the globe.
EcoVadis is an independent, international platform that evaluates companies based on four areas of their CSR policies: environmental impact, working conditions, fair trade practices and sustainable purchasing policy.
EcoVadis carried out a baseline measurement in fall 2021 at our request, and as a result immediately granted Losberger De Boer the Silver Medal in recognition of its good scores for its environmental process, as well as its labour & human rights policies. This means that our performance falls within the top 25% of the world, within its industry.
The scope of the defined industry is, however, very broad and contains a wide range of businesses and services, which adds further meaning to our achievement to reach the top 25%. Within our own field, of companies renting out temporary buildings, we, to the best of our knowledge, are the only company to have received the EcoVadis Silver Medal.
Why did Losberger De Boer apply for this rating?
Over the last two decades, we have taken numerous successful steps to continuously reduce our ecological footprint, which has resulted, among other things, being ISO 14001 certified in 2010. We have developed more sustainable parts and products, have optimized our transport and we have invested across the board in a more sustainable operation.
At the same time, the EcoVadis rating comes with solid advice on how to further improve the way we work within all four areas of CSR, which we find both helpful and valuable. Since receiving our first rating, all departments within the group have started to set more ambitious and very concrete goals for themselves, and have placed more emphasis on plans to improve our performance in the field of sustainability. The first changes are set to be implemented in Q1 of 2022. We will provide updates on major CSR-related improvements and will publish an extensive CSR Report yearly, starting this January.
The Rental Projects & Turnkey Solutions division is the first division of Losberger De Boer that was assessed by EcoVadis. All our other divisions will join the program in 2022.
