Rethinking applications: using tent fabric to protect bus drivers
Losberger De Boer has started the production of protective materials for drivers on school and city busses, as well as other forms of passenger transport, such as company vans.
In most countries, plexiglass screens have been installed in most line busses. Apart from the debate whether or not these screens are sufficient to protect the driver against possible corona contamination by passengers (Belgian unions have already spoken out against solely relying on these screens), these screens come with a disadvantage: in case of emergency, the driver is often unable to get away quickly.
Transparent and safe
Losberger De Boer has devised a transparent, safe and easily removable solution to better protect drivers. A transparent tarpaulin screen completely shields the area where the bus driver is seated, as it is connected seamlessly to both floor and ceiling. It is attached with Velcro, allowing the driver to remove it quickly in case of emergency.
Commercial vehicles and smaller buses
This solution is also suitable for smaller buses, such as bell buses, school buses, and company vans. For application in these vehicles, the corona protection screen is made to fit size by Losberger De Boer's tarpaulin and textile specialists.
A few years ago, tarpaulin from Losberger De Boer was used in Germany to create quarantine aircraft, which were used to retrieve emergency workers from areas that had been severely affected by the outbreak of the Ebola virus.
