Solar4Rental at Farnborough International Airshow (FIA)

After the successful pilot of our new temporary solar panels at Schagen on Ice, we set out to test them for a long-term event and install them on our welfare facilities at Farnborough International Airshow.

This pilot focused on providing training for all teams to install the panels and analyse their output and performance over a six-month period.

  • We installed 24 panels  to generate a total of 8520 Wp
  • Each frame can save up to 7741 kWh and 2748 CO2 per year
  • Equivalent to 131 trees

Our panels will be up for six months, from March to August, resulting in a total output of 5,473.34 kWh - enough energy to power two average-sized homes in the UK for a whole year.

What is Solar4Rental?

Solar4Rental is a Losberger De Boer innovative solution that integrates solar panels into our temporary event structures to supply a renewable power source.

This system has been developed to facilitate the transition to climate-neutral rental structures, with every detail designed from the perspective of our clients' challenges and desires. With Solar4Rental, you gain access to clean energy and take a significant step towards hosting events that are both inspiring and responsible.

How does it work?

Solar4Rental captures solar energy through photovoltaic panels installed on the roofs of our structures. This energy is then directed to the event's electrical infrastructure, providing a reliable and sustainable additional power source that also works in less optimal weather conditions.

The system is designed for ease of use with a plug-and-play approach, making it straightforward to integrate into existing event structures without needing specialist knowledge or equipment.

While the amount of energy generated depends on several factors, such as panel placement and sunlight exposure, Solar4Rental is designed to supplement your event’s power needs, contributing to a more sustainable energy mix.

Technical Specifications

Panel Size: 1.75m in height and 1.05m in width.

Frame Configuration: Solar panels are integrated into frames, each holding 4 panels with dimensions of 5x2m.

Energy Output: Each panel generates 355W, scalable to meet specific energy demands. For example, a structure with 72 panels can provide significant power tailored to event needs.

Installation Requirements: Minimal impact on event setup timelines with efficient installation processes. Our team coordinates the setup seamlessly with your event planning.

How much energy could we output?

We installed 24 panels to generate a total of 8520 Wp. The graph below shows a sample of the PV energy output expected for a structure based in London using 24 panels. Each frame can save up to 7741 kWh and 2748 CO2 per year, which is the equivalent of 131 trees.
