Premium VIP hospitality on ‘The Green Monster’
From 05 to 07 June 2021, the Porsche European Open took place for the 6th time at the Green Eagle Golf Course just outside Hamburg. Each tournament day, 2000 golf fans experienced the top sporting event on ‘The Green Monster’, one of the most challenging courses in Germany.
Porsche European Open as a Model Project
Tournament organisers, players and golf-enthusiasts rejoiced when it was announced that the Porsche European Open would be the first professional golf tournament in Europe to be held in front of a live audience since October 2019. To make this possible, the team of the tournament organiser U.COM Event had to pull out all the stops. Dirk Glittenberg, managing director of U.COM, summarizes what went on behind the scenes as follows: "It was an intense couple of weeks, but it was worth it."
Extensive tests, wearing masks, and maintaining a safe distance were the motto. Even the 86-hectare tournament site had to be adapted to the most recent Corona regulations. For this, U.COM relied on temporary event solutions from Losberger De Boer.
Exclusive Garden Lounge overlooking the 18th hole
Our rental team erected a total of 4.000 m² of high-quality small and large structures that blended seamlessly into the idyllic grounds of the Green Eagle Golf Course. These included the 70 m long Walk of Fame, retreats for staff and helpers, kitchen and catering tents as well as multiple storage facilities.
At the heart of the facility was a 1.200 m² VIP tent, which was used as a garden lounge with adjoining terrace and bistro. From this luxurious setting the guests had a great view of hole 18, which is the last, decisive and most difficult part of the course, ensuring a wonderful VIP-experience.
